Iskratel joins BREKO, strengthening its position in enabling Germany’s gigabit society

The move is part of Iskratel’s commitment to enabling operators across the globe to cost-effectively and efficiently upgrade their networks to gigabit speeds

Bonn, Germany and Kranj, Slovenia, 26 February 2019 – As demand for gigabit broadband access in Germany increases, Iskratel, the leading European provider of broadband access solutions, today announced it has become a member of one of Germany’s leading broadband associations – BREKO.

The move comes as Iskratel looks to expand its presence in the German broadband market and ensure that operators can evolve broadband services and introduce NG-PON, Cloud and 5G without hardware changes.

Iskratel’s next-generation optical gigabit access solution responds to the increasing demand in the market for deployment with minimal service interruptions, while offering virtually unlimited bandwidth. Its advanced GPON access technology provides operators with an innovative solution which empowers them to meet the increasing demands of their customers – without replacing the existing infrastructure.

This is particularly beneficial for operators looking to deploy future-proof fibre infrastructures – which is more than 60 percent of BREKO’s members – to upgrade their networks to deliver gigabit speeds, while reducing their Operational Expenditure (OpEx) and Capital Expenditure (CapEx),improve their Return on Investment (ROI) and user satisfaction.

Kristijan Melinc, Global Sales Director at Iskratel, said: “At Iskratel we understand operators are facing a challenge to deliver enhanced services to meet the rapidly increasing demands of their customers and generate new revenues. That is why we developed our SI3000 Lumia, the superior fibre-access platform, which today proves its versatility and compliance to operate with the leading ONTs in the market.”

As part of its BREKO membership, Iskratel will join more than 300 leading German alternative fixed broadband network operators which are helping develop fibre access technologies in the market.

Iskratel has also launched its partnership program in Germany to collaborate with local providers of broadband-based solutions, including telecommunications solution providers, system integrators and technical support companies.

Iskratel’s SI3000 Lumia will be on display alongside its comprehensive portfolio of broadband access solutions at Stand 102, at Fiberdays19, which takes place at RheinMain Congress Center in Wiesbaden, Germany, from Monday, March 25 until Thursday, March 28, 2019.
