Cloud Logistics Announces Banner Results for the First Half of 2016

Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Aug. 03, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Cloud Logistics, a leading innovator in SaaS logistics solutions and provider of the most modern transportation management software (TMS), finished the first half of 2016 on a strong note with strategic customer wins, three releases of their software and recognition by industry thought leaders with numerous awards.

Building on 2015’s 10x increase in network shipping volume, Cloud Logistics added customers from a wide variety of industries in the first half of 2016.  Shippers from aerospace, agriculture, chemicals, distributors, food manufacturing, retail and third party logistics have all signed on to Cloud Logistics to reduce their freight spend and improve collaboration across their networks.  In addition to supporting a wide range of industry requirements, the software’s appeal extends across companies both large and small.  The largest new member of the Cloud Logistics’ customer base has more than $6B in revenue, while the smallest is less than $50M.

Mark Nix, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Cloud Logistics, said, “It is exciting and a privilege to work with so many great companies.  When we founded Cloud Logistics, we did so knowing that there was pent up market demand from companies that needed transportation solutions, but were neither inspired by nor could they cost justify traditional, legacy applications.  I am very confident looking forward that we have only scratched the surface and the opportunities to supply the industry with intuitive and rapid-to-install TMS will continue to grow.”

Cloud Logistics’ customers appreciate the continuous innovation and the seamless upgrades provided by the five or six new releases offered each year.  Thus far in 2016, there have been three upgrades to the cloud-based solution.  Highlights and new features include:

  • Integration with multiple, popular rate benchmarking services: Combined with Cloud Logistics’ easy-to-use request for quotation feature, this new decision support capability enables shippers to make intelligent decisions and best leverage the spot quote market.
  • A wide variety of enhancements to the vendor portal: For shippers who strive to take control of their inbound supply chain and convert pre-paid freight moves to collect, the vendor portal makes it easy to on-board dozens or hundreds of suppliers, in both domestic and international locations.
  • Planning and optimization enhancements: a variety of new rules (such as prioritizing mileage reduction vs cube utilization vs cost minimization), strategies and audit trails enable users to take greater control of the planning rules and process.
  • A selection of enhancements to the ‘workbench’ designed to make life even easier for transportation planners. These include the ability to quickly perform mass updates across dozens of shipments, ‘drag and drop’ shipments across loads and additional user interface enhancements

“Our ability to quickly respond to user requests and market demands is critical to making all of our customers successful and referenceable,” added Scott Tesoriere, Vice President of Technology for Cloud Logistics.  “Our development teams are focused on finding the balance between adding new features while doing so in a way that does not impact the ability for new users to become comfortable and proficient with the software with only two hours of training.”

In addition to providing great new capabilities to new customers, Cloud Logistics also focused energies and investment this past spring towards the future talent of the supply chain industry.  Cloud Logistics donated their TMS solution to the Haslam College of Business and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  Each year, leaders from Cloud Logistics will visit Knoxville to meet with and train students on a real-life supply chain software solution, giving them invaluable experience for their transition to the professional world.

Finally, Cloud Logistics was the recipient of many different awards from industry thought leaders and publications.  Some of these include Supply Chain Brain’s “100 Great Supply Chain Partners”, Inbound Logistics’ “Top 100 Logistics IT Providers”, and most recently, Food Logistics’ “2016 Top Green Providers”.
