AVEVA Powers Smart Manufacturing At Schneider Electric

AVEVA, a global leader in engineering and industrial software, today announced Schneider Electric’s selection of AVEVA software solutions to drive the company’s Smart Factory initiative, as part of its digital transformation journey. Benefits include reduced downtime, improved efficiency and lower costs.

Manufacturers must optimise value creation across asset and operations lifecycles while facing economic, resource and operational challenges. Schneider Electric has embraced digital transformation to overcome these hurdles. The company is implementing an AVEVA solution that enables real-time visibility of process and production states, to ensure consistent standards are adhered to across multiple sites. This solution applies lean manufacturing principles while offering sufficient flexibility for process improvement and operational agility.

Schneider Electric has further streamlined and automated the management of maintenance work planning, preventive maintenance and scheduling for greater efficiency. Module-based deployment eased scalability and time-to-value. End users have better access to process and performance data, which is now being collected, stored and visualised through a secure, managed cloud solution. AVEVA is now live at 40 Schneider manufacturing sites and expected to be live at 60 sites by year end.

“AVEVA software solutions provide tremendous value to Schneider Electric plants, leveraging the capabilities of our EcoStruxure for Industry architecture,” said Sylvain Gire, Vice President, GSC Transformation-Industrialisation at Schneider Electric. “We are beginning to see productivity, up time and efficiency improvement. We’re eager to accelerate this deployment to our other remaining sites.”

Select results from these AVEVA implementations include reducing unplanned downtime by 10%, improved operational visibility and control and increased productivity of the workforce.

“The AVEVA portfolio offers manufacturers factory proven industrial solutions to achieve operational excellence and sustained process improvement across industrial operations. AVEVA now plays a critical role in how Schneider Electric’s plants are operated as an enabler of digital transformation – with strong, measurable ROI,” said Doug Warren, VP, Strategic Partnerships at AVEVA.
