Argus, Ineos, GE Global, Calor Gas and Gibson Shipbrokers discuss new LPG investment projects, product pricing and global market trends

Global energy and commodity price-reporting agency Argus will host the Argus European LPG Markets 2018 conference in London, UK, on 3-5 December.

Drawing on the success of a global series of established LPG shows, the ninth annual event is focused on European markets and will bring together LPG producers, suppliers and market specialists from Belgium, Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Norway, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and the UK.

“Market dynamics are continuing to cause uncertainty. China and the US have embarked on a trade war, and LPG markets have not escaped unscathed,” says David Appleton, Senior LPG Analyst at Argus. “Early indications are, as to be expected, that the result is a higher price for non-US origin cargoes delivered to Asia-Pacific. But what this means for Europe and whether more US cargoes will be shipped transatlantic remains to be seen.”

Appleton also highlighted the EU’s renewable energy directive and IMO 2020 as other key factors affecting the LPG supply and demand landscape.

“The new IMO sulphur cap could add further complexity to an already complicated supply landscape, and with the outcome of the RED II to be determined shortly, regulations are likely to have a key impact in both the short and long term.”

The Argus European LPG conference will see leading figures from across the industry gather to address these questions and share their insights on how the market will weather this period of uncertainty.

Agenda highlights include a spotlight on new investment projects featuring a case study by Ineos that will provide key intelligence on its planned ethane cracker and propane plants, as well as updates on developments in areas such as autogas, bio-LPG, transport and supply, led by representatives from Lange Gas, Gibson Shipbrokers, Calor Gas, Ipragaz, GE Global and Gaspeco.

Confirmed attendees include AIGLP, Astomos Energy, Avanti Gas, Axpo Trading, Bulrom Gas Impex, Davy, Evonik Performance Materials, Flogas, Gaspeco, Glencore, Hexagon Ragasco, International Energy Group, Kralupol, Litasco, Northern LPG Supplies, Oiltanking Antwerp Gas Terminal, Petoro, Petrol LPG and Rubis Energie.

For those looking to attend, a £200 early-bird discount is available through the Argus website, although this offer expires on Friday 28 September.

Argus European LPG Markets will take place on 3-5 December at the 1 America Square Conference Centre in London.
