telent welcomes Shani Latif as Sales Director

Warwick, 22 November 2018: telent Technology Services Ltd (telent), the UK’s leading mission-critical network solutions provider, today announced the appointment of Shani Latif, who will take on the role of sales director for the service provider and cybersecurity side of the business.

Within this role, Latif – formerly of Daisy Group – will take on responsibility for developing telent’s business within service providers, delivering an integrated technology service underpinned by telent’s strong technical team. Latif will be focusing her team on new business development in this arena and believes there is no better UK integrator than telent, which is able to intimately understand and effectively support the highly demanding needs of service providers.

“Our mission critical customers trust telent not only with their datacentres but with their lives – from the blue light sector to the big service providers like Sky and BT – we deliver life critical networks on a daily basis,” she said. “My role will see us providing the full range of telent services to our customers, whilst broadening our net new customer base. There will be an increased focus on our security practise, this is a prominent arena for our customers who entrust telent with their critical infrastructure, and therefore a strong security offering is the natural next step for us. I am thrilled to be joining telent and I look forward to embarking on this new adventure with a strong team by my side.”

From technical beginnings, Latif joined Scalable Communications in 2004, gaining invaluable experience and knowledge from the ground up, and proved to be a major asset to the team at every level. Moving up the ranks to public sector manager, enterprise sales manager and subsequently the head of service provider division in 2013, Latif’s main strengths are her knowledge about the customer base, sales, team management and her ability to grow a business from nothing into a multi-million-pound, high performing organisation.

During her time at Scalable Communications, Latif was responsible for managing all of B&Q’s data centres, stores and websites across Europe, as well as overseeing a large bank’s entire IT strategy, giving her vital experience in managing enterprise accounts. She was also responsible for a start-up business unit within Daisy to address the demand for service providers. In just four years, the team of two had grown to eight and became the most successful and profitable team within the company, generating £5.50 profit for every pound spent.

When Scalable Communications was acquired by Alternative Networks in 2010 and then bought by Daisy Group in 2016, Latif had already developed the public sector, enterprise and finally headed up the new service provider division until she made the move to telent in November 2018.

“We’re delighted to have Shani on-board and are confident that her addition to the team will further enhance the services we provide,” added Joe Pincus, business development director at telent.
