Currently, the DLC is used to verify the licences of local authority fleet drivers and also to check the licences of local Private Hire Vehicle (PVH) taxi drivers. Citing recent road safety figures, the Association for Driving Licence Verification (www.ADLV.co.uk) is urging fleets to increase the frequency of driving licence checks on high risk drivers. According to new ADLV recommendations, monthly checks should be carried out on drivers with more than nine points as a matter of best-practise.
