Iskratel strengthens leadership team with dedicated digital transformation specialists

Kranj, Slovenia, 7 May 2019 – In response to the rising demand for digital infrastructures, Iskratel today announced it has appointed a new senior leadership team to drive its digital transformation strategy and deliver on the reality of next-generation networks.

As the leading European provider of communications solutions for the digital transformation of the telecommunications, transport, public safety, and energy industries, Iskratel has made the move as part of its continuous commitment in enabling operators to seamlessly migrate to next-generation architectures. Taking this to a new level, the leadership team will build on Iskratel’s established portfolio of broadband access solutions to drive new digital transformation solutions from concept to market – enabling Iskratel to remain one step ahead of operators’ evolving needs.

Drawing on more than 20 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, sales and management, Iskratel’s senior leadership team will drive the development and commercialisation of the solutions for the digital transformation within a range of sectors, enabling a safer and smarter future. Customers will also benefit from the organisation being more agile and flexible, with the team bringing a renewed focus on customised solutions.

The new directors include Damir Opsenica who brings more than fourteen years of experience in development, sales, consulting and corporate management to take on the role of Director of Business Unit Core. Opsenica joins the Iskratel team following an eleven-year stint at Ericsson as Head of Telco Core and Cloud for North and Central Europe, where he was responsible for driving new business in areas of IT and Telco Cloud, Network Functions Virtualization, Internet of Things (IoT) and ICT Transformation services. Opsenica holds a degree in electrical engineering and an MBA.

Matjaž Aljancic, will take on the role of Director of Business Unit Broadband at Iskratel. Leading the unit, Aljancic will be responsible for sales, Research and Design (R&D) and overall results of the business unit. Through the role, Aljancic will build on his fourteen years’ experience in development, sales, quality management and corporate management. Matjaž holds a masters degree in quality management and a degree in electrical engineering.

Serving as a Chief Operating Officer at Iskratel since last year, Sašo Šimec will now take on the role of Director of Business Unit EMS. With more than 20 years of managerial experience in manufacturing, quality management and project management and a degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA, Šimec will set the overall business goals of Iskratel.

Finally, Tadej Dragaš has been appointed as Director of Business Unit Industry Verticals at Iskratel. Dragaš has been with Iskratel for more than fifteen years, most recently as the Director of Representative Office and Sales in Russia. Dragaš brings a wealth of knowledge in development, sales and management, with more than eighteen years of experience. He also holds a degree in computer science and an MBA.

Iskratel will showcase its solutions for the digital transformation of telcos’ networks at ANGA COM 2019 – Stand S50, in Hall 8 – in Cologne, Germany from Tuesday, June 4 until Thursday, June 6.
