Industry Accolades for Saccade Analytics Groundbreaking Neurological Evaluation Tool

Awards Recognizing Innovation and Rapid Growth Keep Accruing for the Canadian Medical Software Start-Up Saccade Analytics

MONTREAL, July 24, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Saccade Analytics is pleased to announce that it has been recognized by Reseau Action TI, a leading industry think tank, as the winner of their OCTAS 2018 awards in both the Startup and the grand prize Excellence categories. In addition, Saccade Analytics has recently been recognized with several prestigious honours, including winning first prize in the $50,000 McGill Hakim Clinical Innovation Competition, graduating from the Toronto Creative Destruction Lab and receiving the Bronfman Emerging Entrepreneur Award.

“Saccade Analytics is grateful for the continued support of the community as we approach the launch of our web app later this summer.  At that point we will be available across all of Canada, with availability in the US coming in early 2019,” said Isabel Galiana, CEO of Saccade Analytics.

Saccade Analytics revolutionizes how concussions and neurological disorders are diagnosed and treated, a multi-billion-dollar market worldwide. Based on decades of research at McGill University and associated hospitals by the founder and visionary, Prof. Mimi Galiana, Saccade Analytics’ proprietary Advanced Nystagmus Systems (ANS) software measures eye and head movements (EHM) in response to a set of specially designed moving targets.

The trajectories of these moving visual targets, designed by Saccade Analytics and based on neurophysiology, appear in the screen of a pair of VR goggles worn by the subject.  Such VR goggles today are portable, economical and obtainable “off-the-shelf.”  The individual EHM data to these stimuli are collected locally and sent to Saccade Analytics’ cloud-based ANS software analysis stage, and, in full confidentiality, within seconds returns a detailed report to the care giver. The report provides unique measures quantifying the patient’s cognitive and reflexive ability to perform coordinated eye/head movements, measures that are extremely sensitive to brain function deficits such as those resulting from concussions or neurological disorders.

Saccade Analytics’ approach is highly scalable and fully able of handling hundreds of patients per minute through the speed and power of cloud computing. The speed at which the cloud-based ANS software functions together with its accuracy and objectivity make it an ideal tool to help speed up accurate diagnosis and reduce waiting lines.
