HUBER+SUHNER to showcase technology leading RADOX MFH cabling solution at Offshore Technology Conference 2018

Kuala Lumpur, 14 March 2018 – Leading international manufacturer of components and systems for optical and electrical connectivity, HUBER+SUHNER, is set to display its innovative cabling solutions for Offshore platform and Floating Production Storage and Offloading Unit (FPSOUs) environments at the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) taking place in Malaysia from March 20-23 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center.

The major focus of the company’s presence at the show this year is the RADOX® MFH cabling solutions. Meeting the demands of the most challenging environments, for example, in drilling applications, the RADOX® was designed and manufactured in-house and in accordance with international standards, and provides a number of thermal, mechanical and chemical benefits, ideal for the typically congested environment of oil mud, aggressive sea water and tough weather conditions.

“Offshore connectivity is a big challenge for some of our customers, which is why this year we are putting our RADOX® MFH cable to the test. OTC visitors can witness the difference between our technology and other market standard flame-retardant power and data cables, as we compare them live at our booth,” said Frank Thorn, Head of Market Unit-Industry at HUBER+SUHNER. “We have been developing and testing this advanced technology for years now, which has enabled us to achieve notable improvements in the thermal, mechanical and chemical properties of the cables insulation material. With this experience, continuous quality checks and extensive laboratory tests, we can guarantee to our customers that our products are of the utmost standard.”

With the ability to withstand high temperatures without shrinking, melting and no drip-off the RADOX® provides an extended temperature range for both hot and cold affected applications, accelerated resistance against environmental factors such as oil, chemicals and UV radiation and is low-smoke, minimizing the potential for hazardous fume inhalation. The technology also allows customers to maximise space and weight in limited applications, due to its light-weight and compact design, the RADOX® saves up to 60% on weight and up to 80% of space.

Also on display at the booth will be a selection of the company’s products for communication in offshore, including the company’s range of small, robust, high performing WIFI / WLAN antennas, various entry devices and surge protective devices that are compliant to ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and NEK 606 tested and DNV approved selected RADOX® fiber optics cables and connectors for applications such as monitoring, control and structured cabling.

“OTC Asia provides the perfect space for us to showcase how our technology is a game changer in the energy and resource space,” added Thorn. “We are excited to exchange ideas and opinions with industry professionals on how HUBER+SUHNER can facilitate offshore resources and combat environmental issues.”

Visitors can find HUBER+SUHNER at Stand B504 in Hall 5 at the Offshore Technology Conference, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia, March 20-23, 2018.
