HUBER+SUHNER to highlight 5G momentum at ECOC 2017

Alongside the latest optical switch and WDM products from Polatis and Cube Optics, HUBER+SUHNER will also present the new E-2000™ fibre optic connector

HUBER+SUHNER, leaders in components and systems for fibre and RF connectivity, will be showcasing its extensive range of infrastructure solutions for enabling 5G networks at this year’s European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC) in Gothenburg, Sweden at Booth 277.

Providing customers and partners with the know-how and support on the journey towards 5G networks, HUBER+SUHNER will showcase its plans for 5G, with products and solutions in small cell, fibre management, GPS over fibre, C-RAN monitoring and protection switching.

“We recognise that as a valued technology provider we must constantly innovate to deliver the best solutions for our customers,” said Martin Strasser, COO at HUBER+SUHNER. “We have more than 50 years of fibre optics experience behind us and the journey to 5G deployment is ahead, so we are excited to present to ECOC visitors our plans for the future.”

The main highlight at the HUBER+SUHNER booth this year will be the unveiling of the E-2000™ – the new one-piece fibre optic connector with automatic full metal shutters that conform to the strict safety requirements for all current laser classes, ideal for high power applications. Featuring mechanical coding of connector and adaptor, the E-2000 is formed in a one-piece design for easy termination and meets the highest standards for excellence in design and manufacturing processes.

Other highlights of the HUBER+SUHNER booth this year include the Polatis family of high reliability, low-loss, optical circuit switches for software-defined network provisioning, protection, monitoring, reconfiguration and test. Offering the industry’s broadest range of SDN-enabled optical cross-connects from 4×4 to 384×384 fibre ports, Polatis optical switches are particularly suited to support monitoring and protection of multiple fibre optic front-haul links for next generation 4G and 5G networks. New products featured on the stand include the latest extension to the Polatis Series 6000 Ultra range, now offering ultra-low loss, sub-1dB connection performance in single-sided (any-to-any) switches up to 64 fibre ports in a compact 1RU high chassis.

HUBER+SUHNER Cube Optics (CUBO) will also showcase its most recent technology, including the latest miniaturized fibre optic components and systems, as well as the smallest multi-lambda 40G and 100G ROSAs and TOSAs for compact, high-speed multi-lambda transceivers. CUBO’s wavelength multiplexers are the premier choice for efficiently increasing bandwidth capacity at low cost

“Our aim is to continue innovating and supporting the ever-changing demands of the optical networking marketplace. ECOC is the largest conference on optical communications in Europe and one of the most prestigious events in the field worldwide so we are looking forward to presenting our latest technologies at the show,” added Mr Strasser.
