New exhibitors will join long-time attendees to highlight fibre’s role in new and emerging technologies
Rome, Italy, 16 July 2018: ECOC Exhibition 2018 is set for success as Nexus Media Events Ltd. today announced it has sold all stand spaces, with Optotec S.p.A., Summitomo, Fujikura, Senko, EXFO, Viavi, Sanwa, Ethernet Alliance and the Consortium for On-Board Optics (COBO) among the latest to confirm attendance.
They will be joined by 12 exhibitors from host nation Italy, where the event will take place in Rome at a pivotal point for the telecoms industry.
“Operators are increasingly turning to fibre to fulfil Government broadband targets and increasing consumer demand for speed and capacity, making ECOC 2018 a must-attend event for anyone in the industry,” said Beverley Lucas, Event Director at Nexus Media Events Ltd. “With confirmed sponsors including names such as Inphi, Intel, Molex, Effect Photonics, Axertis, KOC, Tektronics, Ciena and Coherent Solutions as the lanyard sponsor, we are anticipating another successful exhibition this year.”
With the Market Focus Call for Speakers now closed and volumes of submissions higher than ever, global giants such as IBM, BT and Microsoft have all put their names forward for selection. This unprecedented response to the Call for Speakers follows the recent announcement of a New Markets track being added to the Market Focus agenda for the first time.
“The addition of the New Markets track within Market Focus has generated increased levels of anticipation for attendees and with the focus also turning to the latest developments across the industry, such as 5G, the IoT, FTTx, 100G and 400G transmission standards, this year’s Exhibition looks set to be as relevant and cutting edge as ever,” added Beverley.
The Market Focus Committee is currently processing speaking submissions with names of confirmed speakers soon to be announced. In addition to the acclaimed Market Focus, FTTx Village, there will also be a variety of workshops taking place to be presented by the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institut and Technology Infrastructure Project.
COBO is among the first-time exhibitors at the show and said the focus on future-proofing fibre optic deployments was among the reasons it chose ECOC to showcase its work on on-board optics to the industry.
