Jena, Germany, August 25th, 2017 – The internationally renowned drinking water optimization expert BRITA Group is moving its commerce platform to Intershop.

As part of a newly developed global brand commerce strategy focusing on seamless user experience alongside the customer journey, BRITA decided to shift its digital infrastructure into the cloud and reviewed the complete technology stack. Following an intensive analysis, the company opted for a migration to the Intershop Commerce Suite to fuel its ongoing internationalization initiative. It combines the high level of flexibility of the Intershop commerce platform with the flexibility and performance of running the system on Microsoft Azure.

Peyman Pakzad, Senior Digital Manager International at BRITA, explains, “Being able to scale on a global level is a high priority for our business. Therefore, the internationalization capabilities and subscription features of the Intershop Commerce Management B2X platform meet our business and marketing strategy perfectly.

Joachim Blömeke, Director International Business Applications at BRITA, adds: “Having the possibility to integrate the commerce platform seamlessly with our content management system and other BRITA IT solutions using Intershops powerful REST API was essential for our decision”.

Axel Köhler, COO at Intershop, adds: “We are proud to announce that BRITA, a company with a long tradition, is among the first clients using our brand new subscription feature. The subscription delivery system is especially useful for consumable goods that are replaced at regular intervals. In the age of the customer, easy to manage user centered services are absolutely inevitable. Furthermore, all desired features should be accessible anywhere and interlinked, regardless whether the customer uses the smartphone, the tablet, in the store, etc.”

With the international rollout, the platform will be able to manage state-of-the-art B2C and B2B e-commerce transactions.

The front-end experience of the new scalable BRITA brand commerce platform will be delivered using the Magnolia content management system.

BRITAs digital lead agency Ray Sono is heading the creative development and the technical implementation.
